Toyia Nichole Wooten 1970-1988

After the untimely and tragic transition of her beloved daughter Toyia, Helen felt compelled to preserve her wonderful spirit and memory by immortalizing her name... thus came ToiNik Records Record Label and HK & Associates Production Company. There she began developing artist, teaching them how to write their songs, improve their stage presence and the importance of arrangements.

It was under this tutelage that Da Brat, R. Kelly, Donell Jones, Tanya (from the group Jade), Ra Ja Nae (who was later signed by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis after a brief time on ToiNik's label and R.A.W. whose hit single "Turn Off The Lights" was on the B.R.E.'s top 40 List (07/96) while still on Helen's label.

Helen promoted concerts for some of the largest names in music; Artists like Teddy Riley (formerly of "Guy"), Frankie Beverly & Maze, Earth, Wind & Fire, Lionel Richie & The Commodores and EnVogue were just a few of the headliners that were featured in concerts and tours promoted by HK & Associates. Being an entrepreneur in the truest sense of the word, she always made it possible for her own acts opened for the shows she promoted.

Students under Helen Wooten Keller's self stylized school of artisit development received a full curriculum, as she began to get her artists cast in movies and nationally touring plays that she promoted. Including "My Grandmother Prayed for Me", "Why Good Girls Like Bad Boys", "He Said, She Said" and "My Brother Marvin". In addition, film production has proven to be another one of Helen's sure footed ventures.
